Our Philosophy
Integrative
Ninety five percent of our session is manual diagnostics and treatment. This is a non-painful approach that decreases the body’s reactivity and anxiety. Research supports better thinking ability when the nervous system is calmed down and less threatened. Greater ease of movement is also noted.
Based on the research of Dr. Candace Pert, from the United States National Institute of Health, all body tissues can be influenced by emotion. In coordination with your physician, our patients receive MIND/BODY strategies to decrease stress and enhance relaxation and well-being.
Often traditional physical therapy uses an EXERCISE ONLY approach to rehab. Research shows manual techniques to the circulatory, nervous & fascial systems prior to exercise can benefit:
- Flexibility
- Pain relief
- Muscle function
- Neuro Sensory integration to enhance cognitive and motor development
Collaborative
We emphasize communication with your chosen medical team.
As healthcare educators developing your activity program, we will address hydration & nutrition with your medical team.
In some instances, patients utilize various doctors, other therapists, or receive school-based services. We are committed to communicating with these providers as needed to create a continuum of care.
Patient Driven
We are committed to listening to your goals and will help you structure a therapy program to meet those goals. With your permission, we share your goals with your medical team for alignment in treatment. Some of the professionals we have coordinated with include specialty physicians, primary care physicians, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, chiropractors, and nutritionists.
Our evening and weekend hours allow ease of access to care.
We are an in network provider for Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO plans and we are participating providers for Medicare and most insurances accepted.
